APROVECHADA!!! Nice decor, food is always delicious and priced accordingly. Service is ok. Wish waitresses would recommend anything from the menu but they limit themselves to just being order takers. BTW, $45 dollars for a King's Cake? Are you serious? The woman that bakes them should be ashamed of taking advantage of the Latino community! She probably wants to get rich in 1 week. SHAME!!!
This is one of the best true Mexican restaurants that I've been to. They would be 5 star if they served wine and a better margarita. Some may be turned off by how clean they think a place should be, but that did not turn me away. We were in the neighborhood for an event that was to take place later in the night. True to Max and I fashion, we like to start the party early. Prices are well worth the taste and amount of food you get. You know when you've found the place when you are sitting among the Mexican population. These folk really know how to cook.
I started with a beef enchilada and it was delicious with beef fresh cheese lettuce. The taste was right on point and one of the best I have had in South Florida. That wait staff was attentive and quick. The place was very pleasant but rough around the edges. With all that being said you really need to try the food. You cannot go wrong.
Best Tacos in town!!! Love this place. Cheap street tacos. I usually get a few and an order of guac to go.do not forget the house made chips
Buena comida solo las tortillas tiene un olor feo Pero de allí la tienda está muy limpia todo ordenado Buen servicio
Very authentic and great Mexican restaurant. Drinks are great--we got mango margaritas! Tried the shrimp tacos, and definitely want to try something new when I return. They have a small market up front too!
Always tasty food and quick service when I visit. They give you complimentary freshly fried chips made with their homemade tortillas. The tacos are delicious. It has a market attached with grocery goods and a butcher.
Not a typical Florida "restaurant" setting, Tortilleria Mexicana never disappoints. I have dined here for breakfast and lunch many times. Why isn't it typical? The setting isn't ocean views and sexy south florida ambiance however, it is a real Mexican atmosphere. Growing up in the East L.A., on authentic Mexican food, this is what a lot of the restaurants looked like. Attached to a lovely Mexican market with all my old favorites....even Mexican sweet breads... the servers are incredibly fast and attentive. They work hard. The food is delish! Authentic Chilaquiles are impossible to find here... this place makes the best Ive had in the state. Get the green Chile with over easy eggs and you won't be disappointed. Their tacos, burritos, beans and rice are all soo good. Very chill!
This is what I think of when I think of Authentic Mexican food. Limited English, Mexican people running the place, and modest prices / quantities. I love the ambience because it doesn't feel like a tourist trap or watered down version. I have ordered from here many times and continue to do so for nights I'm hanging out with my friends born and raised in Mexico.
I have driven past this restaurant a million times, and now that I have moved to Downtown Oakland park, I decided to give it a try. This is the best authentic Mexican restaurant I have ever been too, and I have been to a bunch. The sauces were spicy and flavorful, the lengua taco was tender and delicious, and the burrito I had was out of this world. Service was quick and the waitress was attentive. The outside of this place is a bit intimidating, but trust me, once you go inside it's welcoming and warm. I am so excited that I now live five minutes away from here. I can't wait to come back.
